Course Topics

Training in the field of Yoga Positions

Our training in yoga asanas meticulously observes the sacred principles of preparation, embracing dynamic exercises harmonized with breath, standing postures, and balance techniques. Participants are guided through the art of counter positions, known as pratikriya asanas, which restore equilibrium following each series of movements, culminating in the refinement of classical yoga postures. Exploring biomechanics, functional anatomy, and methods for enhancing body awareness, practitioners deepen their understanding of how the human form engages with yoga.

Furthermore, participants learn the preventive and therapeutic facets of yoga, discerning their applicability and contraindications in addressing various health concerns. Rooted in the fundamentals of human anatomy and physiology, our curriculum equips instructors with the knowledge required to cater to diverse populations.

Beyond the physical realm, our teachings extend to the subtle anatomy of energy, exploring the intricate network of nadis—energy channels and chakras—vital energy centers in the body.

Additionally, participants are introduced to the foundational principles of Ayurveda, the ancient Indian tradition of holistic medicine, enriching their comprehension of holistic well-being.

Knowledge of Breathing techniques

Understanding pranayama, the science of breath, and its transformative effects is fundamental for every yoga instructor. Mastery of diaphragmatic breathing and muscle engagement techniques, known as bandhas and mudras, is essential for course participants.

In our yoga classes, we emphasize the significance of cultivating awareness in both deep and light breathing throughout the practice, whether in the relaxation phase between asanas or during holds.

Knowledge of Relaxation Techniques

Every yoga session concludes with a vital component: yoga relaxation. Just as yoga postures release physical tension, pranayama techniques address energetic blockages, and yoga relaxation liberates our emotional and mental sides. This essential practice encompasses the art of yoga nidra, facilitating profound states of relaxation and rejuvenation.

As yoga instructors, our profound understanding and guidance in relaxation techniques hold immense spiritual significance. By guiding practitioners through yoga relaxation, we provide a sacred space for them to journey inward, to release the burdens of the mind and emotions; to reconnect with their true essence.

In this state of deep relaxation, students may experience union with the divine, accessing inner peace and clarity. Thus, the knowledge of relaxation becomes a gateway for our students to deepen their spiritual connection and embody the essence of yoga beyond the physical realm.

A peak into the valuable information the course teaches..

The theoretical part of the lecture deals with the physiology, philosophy and psychology of yoga.

This subject includes lectures on the evolution and manifestations of consciousness in yoga, how the implicit universe is revealed and unfolds (through the so-called tatvas) and what are the decisive factors for its appearance and existence in the explicit order.

Attendees have the opportunity to become familiar with the Vedic tradition and the main philosophical trends in ancient India, which at one time had such a strong influence on the entire Hellenic culture. The central subject is the psychology of yoga, which is based on the interpretation of the "Yoga Sutra" or "Yoga Sayings" by the famous sage Patanjali from the 2nd century, which describes the movement of consciousness on its way to liberation.

Yoga is a discipline that refines and vitalizes all levels of human existence. He considers the body to be a rougher manifestation, that is, a crystallization of the previously created mental imagination of the Cosmic Thinker - Ishvara, and with his techniques he gradually spiritualizes that roughest level of existence.

The process of becoming aware does not end with the body, but goes further and encompasses all the subtler levels of our being, from energetic and mental - emotional, to psychological, gradually bringing them into a harmonious relationship.

And as an old saying from the Upanishads says: The body is the chariot, the senses are the horses, the sense objects are the roads, the mind is the reins, the intelligence is the charioteer, the Self is the passenger. A wise man knows that his true "I" is the Self, self-fulfilled, when it is united with the body, senses and mind. That state of unity is called Yoga.

To be united with the Self means to achieve dynamic harmony within oneself, which leads to inner peace.
